Class Description
Class description:
In this class your child is invited to use all of their senses to connect with nature, themselves and others. Through games, stories and hands-on projects, they will learn the sacred order of survival: Shelter, water, fire, food.
Shelter - We will learn how to make various shelter styles as well as shelter fundamentals such as location, hazards and different building materials to use.
Water - We will explore methods of finding and purifying water. Our bodies are mostly water. It's the same water that circulates between us and the trees and the plants and the rain. We are all connected through water.
Fire - We use fire everyday to cook and heat our homes, but most of us are very disconnected and unfamiliar with how fire acts and responds. It's a primal tool and companion that all of our ancestors knew how to make using friction. Fire can spark joy and empower a person. You learn a lot about yourself by making fire with friction.
Food - Tracking, baskets, weapons, traps, edible, medicinal and utilitarian plants; the list for what nature can teach us is endless.
